REMINDERS
- Wednesday, December 14 at 9:00 am is the yearly Christmas Presentation. Parents/Guardians are welcomed to join us. ** Please remember that boys will need to be wearing a red shirt and black pants and girls will need to wear a white blouse and red skirt.
- No new sight words will be assigned until after the Christmas break ... Which means I expect parents to be working diligently with their children to help them learn all sight words that have been given thus far. An assessment will be given the week we get back from break.
- There will be NO AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM in session this Friday, December 16 all students will be dismissed at 3:00pm sharp.

REMINDERS
- Thursday, December 8th - FULL Uniform for all students; Mass is at 9:00 am and parents are welcomed to join us. 

- Also on Thursday, students will have their Module 2 exams for math. Please review with them 2 and 3 dimensional shapes. A great review for them would be to log onto IXL and complete sections V.1 - V.9 (Two Dimensional Shapes) and W.1 - W.10 (Three Dimensional Shapes). 

- I still don't have emails for some parents for the Rowland Reading Program. If you have not yet submitted an email so that I can enroll you, please do so before the end of the week. Blending worksheet will be sent home next week so that parents can review and reinforce blending sounds with their children at home.

- For the Christmas show on December 14th, girls are asked to a white blouse and a red skirt. The boys are asked to wear a red button down and black dress pants (NO JEANS).

- $5 are being collected for Wednesday's Thanksgiving Festivities. If you'd like to also bring in goodies for the kids, you are more than welcomed to do so.

Friday, November 11th - School is closed in honor of Veteran's Day.

During the month of November, we are collecting canned goods for the hungry and poor. Mr. Woods along with the staff ask children to bring in any unopened and unused canned goods as a donation. The class with the most amount of cans collected will win a pizza party.

  • Parents please remember to sign your children in when dropping them off in the mornings and sign them out when picking them up in the afternoons.
  • I ask that you PLEASE bring your children in before 8am if you want them to have breakfast; once it's 8am and my door is closed, breakfast can not be eaten in the classroom.

1. A letter from the superintendent of schools was sent out today. Parents please read over them, fill out the backside and return to me as soon as possible. - Thanks.

2. Welcome letters for the Superkids program were sent home today. Meet The Superkids is a program that will help your child learn how to read and write. I ask that parents please read over them as they are well informative on what the program entails. Attached to the letters is a form to enroll your child in the online portal (parent portal). This will give you access at home to review with your child and have them engage in activities that can be done right from home. Please fill out the form and return to me as soon as possible. -Thanks.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

     The following are reminders for this upcoming week:

1. Please make sure that you check the blog daily for homework assignments.

2. I am still missing paperwork that was given out on Parent Meetings. Those need to be filled out and handed in (parent signature pages along with emergency cards).

3. Quizzes will begin next week for Reading, ELA, and Math. (Students must be able to recall everything that has been covered prior to the quizzes) I suggest and encourage parents to get involved and ask questions in regards to what was learned daily and monitoring as well as checking over homework helps. 

4. Sight words should be reviewed with your child at home as reinforcement to ensure academic achievement.

5. Picture Day is October 3rd. Picture forms were sent out last week, if you wish to have your child take their picture, money is to be sent in with the form filled. Your child may wear Dress Up clothes or their uniform.

6. Scholastics booklets were also sent out last week, if you wish to purchase any books for your child, money should be sent in with the name of the item you are requesting to buy. 

7. Mondays are gym days for our class. This means full gym uniform (gym t-shirt, gym shorts or sweat pants and sneakers) is to be worn on every Monday.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

     The following are reminders for this upcoming week:

1. School is in session on Monday 9/12.

2. Please remember to sign your child in at drop off in the mornings and out at pick up in the afternoons. 

3. Paperwork that was given out on Parent Meetings are to be filled out and handed in to me by Tuesday (parent signature pages along with emergency cards).

4. Some students are still missing supplies. Class assignments and homework will begin on Monday, so supplies MUST be bought, labeled and sent in with your child to ensure that she/he is participating in every assignment given.
(Please check my previous post for class supply list).

4. Starting this Monday, homework will be given Mondays through Thursdays and MUST be handed in on Fridays as I will be collecting them in the morning.

6. Directions for homework will be posted up daily on the blog, so parents can check in if in the case your child forgets. 

7. Every Monday students will have gym. This means full gym uniform (gym t-shirt, gym shorts or sweat pants and sneakers) is to be worn on every Monday.

8. Every Thursday students will have art. The art teacher has requested that your child brings in a art smock or an old t-shirt that will be worn during art class.

9. Students will also have music every Thursday.

10. Sight words should be reviewed with your child at home as reinforcement to ensure academic achievement.

K-2 Supply List for 2016-2017

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Listed below are the supplies that your kindergartener will need for this upcoming school year. With the help of these resources, your little ones will be ready to learn and grow this year.
I ask that you please label all of your child’s supplies with their first and last name.


Supply list:
  • 2 notebooks – the school's supply store has blue ones that allow your child to learn penmanship easier
  • 6 pocket folders (plastic) – red, blue, green, purple, yellow, and orange (folders will be used for each subject)
*notebooks and folders may be purchased at our school supply store*
  • 1 draw and write journal notebook/notepad
  • 1 Activity book (Spectrum workbook for e.g. math, reading, phonics that is grade appropriate)
  • 2 packs of #2 pencils
  • 2 large erasers
  • 2 packs of crayons (24ct.)
  • 2 dry erase markers
  • 1 pencil case (Large enough to fit crayons, pencils, etc.)
  • 1 child friendly scissor
  • 6 glue sticks
  • 2 packs of index cards
  • 2 reams of white printing paper
  • 2 packs of assorted colors construction paper
  • 2 boxes of tissue
  • 2 rolls of Bounty paper towels
  • 1 pack of 3ct. Clorox Disinfecting Wipes
  • 1 can of Lysol Disinfecting Spray
  • 2 Purell hand sanitizers
  • 1 box of Ziploc bags (gallon size)
  • A change of clothes as accidents may happen (shirt, underwear, pants and socks)
*Please place all clothes in a large Ziploc bag and label everything with your child’s name*
