2nd Grade
Monday 2/26:
-RWJs p. 160, the text is active on Pearson Realize and finish the questions on p. 162 for Sleuth Work if not completed in class.
Tuesday 2/27:
- Questions 1 - 3 on p. 165 in RWJs use the text assigned on pearson realize.
Wednesday 2/28:
- Social studies p. 137 questions B & C in notebook.
Thursday 3/1:
- ALL students may dress up for Dr. Seuss's Birthday tomorrow if they wish.
- RWJ's top of p. 171 and bottom of p. 172
Friday 3/2:
- Log onto Khan Academy and complete all assignments for nouns; all login information is on the link above & students are able to login on their own as we use this in class. (login through google - gmail and then go to Khan and continue using google)
-Log onto Front Row and complete Targeted ELA Skills - Inferences & Main Idea

- Log onto pearson realize and read Stuck in the Mud. Answer the questions at the end on loose-leaf restate only.

- RWJ's p. 176 questions 1-4, text is accessible on pearson

  1. Wednesday 2/21: End of Unit 2 ELA Assessment for 2nd grade. Black History Month Music Presentation for grades 1 - 3 at 8:30 AM - Parents are welcomed.
  2. Friday 2/23: Social Studies test for 2nd grade - Chapter 8; ELA vocabulary quiz for 3rd grade. Stations of The Cross at 11:00 AM - Parents are welcomed.

REMINDERS
** A reminder to parents that studying with your child will ensure academic progress. 20 minutes a night helps! Also, please make sure your child has sharpened pencils every morning for school. Reminder that being ready and prepared for class is essential.**
  1. 2nd grade Khan Academy usernames and passwords have been listed in the links for Login Information, 3rd graders have been using it for the past week in class and all know their information.
  2. 2nd grade religion test as rescheduled for Monday, 2/12.
  3. 02/14: 3rd grade students will have their test selection for The Frog Princess on Pearson Realize. Students may wear red for RED day - Ash Wednesday Mass @ 10:30 am - parents are welcomed to join.
  4. 02/15: 2nd grade students will have their test selection for I wanna Iguana on Pearson Realize. Students will celebrate 100th Day of School & have their Valentine’s Day party. Please send in $3 for pizza; students will then decide what goodies to bring in to share with the class- students may dress down
  5. 02/16: Beginning today, Stations of the Cross will be held ALL Fridays at 11:00 AM.

Monday 02/12:
  1. Log onto Front Row and complete the article on Bill of Rights - due Wednesday, 2/14
  2. Answer questions A, C, & E on p. 171 on loose leaf, do not write the questions, RESTATE.
  3. Ms. Alma asked if parents can have children look onto her blog for the songs that will be sung on Wednesday at Mass.
Tuesday 02/13:
  1. Log onto Khan Academy and if you did not finish, complete the assignment from today's lesson on Identifying Nouns. *Reminder that if you score below an 80% you must redo the lesson.
  2. Complete assignment on Front Row if you haven't done so.
  3. Students may dress up tomorrow and wear something red for Red Day. NO JEANS OR SNEAKERS!
  4. $3 for pizza party on Thursday is being collected and due tomorrow.

Wednesday 02/14:
  1. Complete p. 146 of RWJs handed back in class today for homework. The text is available on Pearson Realize. Please log on to access it.
  2. Children may dress down tomorrow for our 100th Day of School celebration.
  3. $3 for pizza party is due for those students who have yet to hand them in.
  4. Please have the students bring in to share with the class the following:
    • Table 1 - Chips
    • Table 2 - Juice boxes or water bottles
    • Table 3 - Donuts or Cookies
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

 Thursday 02/15:
  1. Students were given back their religion test. Please review, sign & return tomorrow.
  2. Students are not allowed to wear play clothes tomorrow. Everyone should come in with their gym uniform. Please reinforce classroom rules.

REMINDERS

1. SCHOOL CLOSED MONDAY - 2/5
2. Second grade will have tests on Friday, 2/9 in Religion (covering ch. 9 &10) and Social Studies (covering ch. 4 & 5).
3. Third grade will have vocabulary quizzes this week in ELA and Religion (ch. 15).

  1. Study vocabulary words along with chapters concepts for both religion (9 & 10) and social studies (4 & 5) for test on Friday, 2/9.
Wednesday 2/7:
  1. Study for religion & social studies.
  2. Complete RWJs bottom of p. 137 - Greeting. 
Thursday 2/8:
  1. Study vocabulary words along with chapters concepts for both religion (9 & 10) and social studies (4 & 5) for test on Friday, 2/9.
  2. Students will take home index cards tomorrow with their OLQM e-mail addresses that will be used for classwork and homework on Khan Academy.
  3. Please ask your child if they were given permission to wear play clothes. A reminder to parents to please reinforce classroom rules. Wearing play clothes is a privilege and students must earn the right to wear play clothes.

3rd Grade
Tuesday 2/6:
  1. Study for religion (ch. 15) vocabulary quiz on Friday, 2/9.
Wednesday 2/7:
  1. Study for religion & ELA

Thursday 2/8:
  1. Students will take home index cards tomorrow with their OLQM e-mail addresses that will be used for classwork and homework on Khan Academy.
