REMINDERS

*Oct. 31st Halloween Day, children may come dressed up in their costumes to school.

*Students will participate in giving candy out to the younger children during our yearly Halloween parade, please bring in candy to give out to the little ones and classmates.

*$3 are being collected for pizza, please hand in by Tuesday 10/30.

*Children in the following tables should bring in the following:
Font 2 tables - 1 pack of individual juice boxes or 1 pack of bottled water
Middle 2 tables - 1 bag of potato chips or 1 box of cookies (PEANUT FREE please)
Back table - cupcakes or donuts

*Nov. 1st All Saints Day; Mass is at 9:00 AM parents are welcomed to join us.

THIS WEEK IN CLASS . . .

Lessons: 2nd Grade begins Unit 1 Module B in ReadyGen, learns about singular and plural nouns as well as irregular plural nouns; takes chapter 2 test in social studies, finishes learning about animals and explore that Jesus Christ gives us the Church.

Lessons: 3rd Grade finishes up on Module A in ReadyGen, learns about singular and plural nouns as well as irregular plural nouns; and they explore ways in which we pray for healing and eternal life.

Lessons: 4th Grade explores the Eighth Commandment and what it means to be true in our faith.

THIS WEEK IN CLASS ...

All classes are covering Safe Environment lessons during religion.

Lessons: 2nd Grade finishes Module A for Unit 1 in ReadyGen and takes a test on Snowshoe Hare's Winter Home; they learn to distinguish between common and proper nouns; finish learning about maps and begin to prepare for next week's map test; continues to learn about animals; and as disciples of Jesus, explore ways to share god's love and peace with others.

Lessons: 3rd Grade continues to compare two text in reading; learns about nouns, common and proper; and explores how the sacraments are celebrated.

Lessons: 4th Grade explores ways in which we are strengthened by the Eucharist

REMINDERS

*Hispanic Heritage presentation for 2nd grade is on Friday 10/12; parents are welcomed to join us at 9:00 AM in the school's lunchroom. 

*Please reinforce classroom rules nightly with your child to ensure that they maintain focus throughout the day and complete class assignments on time.

*To keep things organized and accessible to parents at all times, to the left of my blog are the following:

1. Direct links to ALL vocabulary words. These links will stay posted at all times. Please note that students are to copy vocabulary words into the notebooks for homework when they are not finished in class.
2. Freckle class codes; students will be given assignments beginning this week for homework and are to be completed on the night they are assigned.
3. Scholastics Book Club class code for parents who wish to order their child books directly online.

THIS WEEK IN CLASS . . .

2nd Grade takes their first grammar test; explores ways in which we can honor Mary and the saints as good disciples of Jesus, begins to learn about maps; and continues to learn about plants. 

3rd Grade continues to read The Case of the Gasping Garbage; learns how to combine sentences and correct run-on sentences; and explores the parable of The Sower. 

4th Grade explores the meaning of keeping the Lord's Day holy.

*Weekly reading logs were sent home today. Students are to begin reading every night for 30 mins and log it on the handout given. Parents MUST sign it. A weekly homework grade will be given; in order to receive full credit, everything on the log must be filled out and reading must be done every night.

3rd Grade:
