Week of 9/25 - 9/29

REMINDERS
  1. Early dismissal on Monday, 9/25; after school is in session for those who need it.
  2. Gym uniform is to be worn on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
  3. MAP testing will be administered on Wednesday, children were not able to test last week due to system shut down; please make sure your child has breakfast in the morning so that they do their best and concentrate on the test rather than an empty, hungry belly.
  4. Oral assessment for sight words will be done next week, so I ask that parents do their part in practicing with their child.

Week of 09/18 - 09/22

REMINDERS
  1. School is CLOSED on Tuesday, September 19th for Archdiocesan Religion Conference Day.
  2. Gym uniform is to be worn on Wednesdays.
  3. MAP testing will be administered on Thursday, September 21st; please make sure your child has breakfast in the morning so that they do their best and concentrate on the test rather than an empty, hungry belly. 
  4. Class picture day is on Friday, September 20th. ALL students must be in FULL uniform and nicely groomed for the pictures.

    4. Mass will be held at 9:00AM, parents may come and join us. 
    5. Please return all forms filled out and signed.

    WELCOME BACK!

    Welcome back to all parents and students! I hope you all had a wonderful summer and I look forward to having an amazing year with your kindergartners!

    Reminders

    1. Parents, all forms given out on parent night must be filled out and handed in by Monday, September 11.
    2. Any students who have yet to bring in their supplies or have some supplies missing must have them in on Monday as we will begin all subject areas. 
    3. Our gym days are every Tuesday and Wednesday, so please send your child to school with their full gym uniform.
    4. Early drop off is at 7:00 am in the classroom and breakfast is offered in the lunchroom.
    5. Dismissal is at 3:15 pm and after-school is available for those who need it.

    2017 - 2018 Supply List for K-2

    K-2  2017 - 2018 Supply List

    Dear Parents/Guardians,

              Below are the supplies that your kindergartener will need this upcoming school year. With the help of these resources, your little ones will be ready to learn and grow this year. I ask that all parents label ALL of their child’s supplies.

    *notebooks and folders may be purchased at our school supply store*
    •  2 notebooks – the school’s supply store has blue ones that allow your child to learn penmanship easier with wide lines
    •  5 pocket folders: yellow, red, blue, green, and purple - plastic folders can be found in the school’s supply store as they are more sturdy and durable; they will be used for each subject.
    • 1 Staples Primary Composition Book (it’s red & black - can be purchased at Staples)
    • 1 Spectrum Activity book (reading, math or phonics, grade appropriate - can be purchased at Staples)
    • 2 packs of Ticonderoga #2 pencils (may be jumbo or primary size if preferred)
    • 2 large erasers or 1 pack of eraser caps
    • 2 packs of Crayola crayons 
    • 1 Black sharpie
    • 1 pack of Expo dry erase markers (these will be used daily in math)
    • 1 large pencil box case (to fit crayons, pencils, etc.)
    • 1 Poly Zip Envelope (Check size - can be purchased at Staples)
    • 1 child friendly scissor
    • 6 glue sticks
    • 1 pack of 3” X 5” lined ruled index cards
    • 1 pack of 5" X 8" lined ruled index cards
    • 2 reams of white printing paper
    • 2 packs of assorted colors construction paper
    • 1 box of Ziploc bags (gallon size)
    • 1 box of Ziploc bags (sandwich size)
    • 2 boxes of tissue
    • 2 rolls of Bounty paper towels 
    • 1 pack of 3ct. Clorox Disinfecting Wipes
    • 1 can of Lysol Disinfecting Spray
    • 1 Large Purell hand sanitizers
    • A change of clothes as accidents may happen (shirt, underwear, pants and socks
    *Please place all clothes in a large Ziploc bag and label everything with your child’s name*

    Week of 5/30 - 6/2

    Supplemental Online Helpers
    • Parents, don't forget to log onto GreatMinds. Remember that Homework Helpers and Parent Tip Sheets are provided for each module that is covered in class and the lessons within them. This is a great aid to you as the parent when you sit with your child and help them with homework.
    • iReady is an online tool that works at your child's pace and level. It works towards slowly increasing skill development in both math and reading. I ask parents to have their child work on it daily if possible (especially those whom their child is struggling to meet academic standards) for a simple 20 minutes. 
    • IXL is another great reinforcement tool that can be used at home with your child. Both ELA and Math can be practiced on a weekly bases by your child.
    • Superkids Online Portal is available to students at home to practice their sound blending in order to read words and sentences. Both online games and books can be accessed for reinforcement.
    Reminders
    1. Early Dismissal this week on Friday, June 2nd. Dismissal is at 12 noon sharp and after school program is in session for those who need it. 
    2. Have your child continue to work on their lessons on iReady. Please remember that these extra lessons are crucial for those students struggling in subject areas of mathematics and reading/english langue arts.
    3. Graduation cap & gowns are available for pick up if tuition has been paid in full. 
    4. MAP Testing will continue this week.
    5. Sight word assessment will be completed this week.
    6. Please send in a Rosary with your child for the May Procession by Tuesday, May 30th. The Procession is on Wednesday, parents may join us if they wish.

    8. Reminder that for students who are failing or struggling in reading and/or math, homework assigned on iReady is graded. Extra lessons (those in the blue box) are used as action plans to help boost your child's grade as discussed during report cards. Assignments that are continuously not being completed is reported to Mr. Woods directly.
