January 8th - 12th

REMINDERS

**We have gotten better, but please still make sure your child has sharpened pencils every morning for school. Reminder that being ready and prepared for class is essential.**

  1. Parents please remind your children that penmanship counts towards their grade. Classwork as well as homework should be done neatly.
  2. All assignments posted for Christmas break as homework on Front Row are due this Wednesday 1/10.
  3. I will continue with ELA vocabulary words for both 2nd and 3rd grade; I will post up all the words Mrs. Bagley has given students prior to this week and I will continue with my words right underneath. As always, students will copy vocabulary words in their ELA notebook, this will prevent any confusion and misplacing of words once testing comes. Please check below, under lessons for the link to all vocabulary words for each grade.
  4. 3rd grade ELA MAP Testing will be on Wednesday, 1/10.
  5. ELA mid-term exam for 3rd grade will be on Tuesday 1/16.
  6. 2nd grade MAP Testing will be on Thursday, 1/18.
HOMEWORK

2nd Grade

Tuesday 1/9:
1. Log onto PearsonRealize and complete the Decodable eReaders for this week's’ lessons along with the High Frequency Word Cards.

Finish completing ALL Front Row assignments as they are due tomorrow.

2. Complete religion workbook p. 294 in classwork notebook #1-8 only. Questions and answers.

3. Complete social studies p. 70. Using the Vocabulary #1-10 answers only and Remembering What You Read # 1-5 Qs & As.

Wednesday 1/10:
1. All students are to wear uniforms tomorrow. Although the school is on a dress down schedule, wearing play clothes is a privilege and unfortunately the second grade's behavior has been unacceptable. Therefore, that privilege has been taken away for this week. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. I ask that parents please stress at home to their children that behavior is important and address the issue with their children.

2. Finish classwork: define vocabulary words from pp. 73-79. Words were copied in classwork notebook already.

Thursday 1/11:

1. As per Mr. Woods, 2nd graders are not allowed to wear play clothes tomorrow. ALL students are to wear uniforms. Again, I ask parents to continue to reinforce and stress that behavior and following class rules is important and essential.

2. Students are to re-define the 12 vocabulary words written in ELA notebook and study them for quiz tomorrow. ALL students have them written down under today's aim as well as previous lessons as we have been covering them over the past week.
