February 3rd - 7th

REMINDERS
*2nd Grade students are conducting research at home for their End of Module Writing Assessment that is on Thursday, Feb. 6th — check the blog daily for prompts on what has to be done every night as homework until the assessment.
NOTE: Without any information your child with not be able to complete the assessment resulting in a failing grade.

*Monday, Feb. 3rd - prayer service for the Blessing of Throats at 9:00 am, parents are welcomed to join us; followed by Honors assembly
*Tuesday, Feb. 4th - Grade 3: Pearson Test Selection for Deep Down & Other Extreme Places to Live & Grade 4: Pearson Test Selection for Quake! 
*Thursday, Feb. 6th - Grade 2 & 4: End of Module Writing Assessment
*Friday, Feb. 7th - Half Day; Dismissal at 12:00 noon

LESSONS
Students will be working on completing a writing assessment, begin to read new grade leveled texts, and complete their test selection on Pearson.

HOMEWORK
Monday, Feb. 3rd
*Grade 2: was given the name of a person in history. They are to conduct research on the person and compose 3 questions (using the words 1.What, 2.When, & 3.Why). After composing the three questions, they must be answered. The answers to each question should be found while doing research. Each student must bring in the loose leaf given in class with the information found tomorrow to continue unto step 2.
*Grade 2: complete Sleuth Work - due Wednesday
*Grade 4: complete classwork RWJ pp. 244-245
*Grade 5: complete classwork RWJ pp. 156 (top & bottom) & begin to brain storm for you writing assessment using the diagram shown in class

Tuesday, Feb. 4th
*Grade 2: each child conference with me; they are to answer the questions written on the loose leaf tonight for homework & bring in tomorrow
*Grade 3: read ch. 1-3

Thursday, Feb. 6th
*Grade 5 complete pp. 158-159, 161 in RWJ
