Summer Reading

Dear parents & students,

I hope that you are all safe and healthy & have been able to enjoy the beginning of summer to the best of your abilities.
Listed below are the books that each incoming grade will need to read over the summer. The books can be purchased from Amazon or your local Barnes & Noble. Please make sure to order the correct book for your appropriate incoming grade.
Students will be expected to complete a written assignment once classes have begun. The assignment as well as all directions for it will be given in class and will be posted on Google Classroom as well. Please be aware that this assignment does count, will be graded and be one of the first grades put into the grade book for the next school year.
A reminder to students that they may use a yellow highlighter & highlight in their books any information that they feel is important (such as characters, setting, conflict, solution, etc.) to their understanding of the book. Also, these books are to be read throughout the summer - do not wait for the week before school resumes to read the book & complete the assignment.

*Note: Incoming second graders from Ms. Saville's class will be sent a request to join my Google Classroom at the end of July, parents please keep an eye out for that. New students to our OLQM community will have an account set-up for them once school resumes.*
