Supplemental Online Helpers

• Parents, don't forget to log onto GreatMinds. Remember that Homework Helpers and Parent Tip Sheets are provided for each module that is covered in class and the lessons within them. This is a great aid to you as the parent when you sit with your child and help them with homework.

• Also, IXL is another great reinforcement tool that can be used at home with your child. Both ELA and Math can be practiced on a weekly bases by your child.

Reminders

• Tuesday, January 31st: All students must be in FULL UNIFORM.

• Thursday, February 2nd: Students whose parents don't have an outstanding tuition will receive their report cards.

• Friday, February 3rd: Mass at 9am and it's half day, dismissal is at 12 noon. Parent teacher conferences from 3pm - 8pm. Uniforms to be worn by all students.

• I am still working on fixing those accounts for parents who are having trouble login onto Superkids Online Portal. As soon as the matter is fixed I will be informing you. Thanks for your patience!

• Decodable books went home in ziplock bags, please have your child read it & bring back tomorrow.

• Report cards will be going out tomorrow for those students who parents do not have an outstanding tuition balance 

Thursday 2/2

• Complete math worksheet lesson 24

• Phonics book pages 129, 130, 131, 132

Friday 2/3

• Review sight words over the weekend. Assessments were pushed to next week.

• Review bending worksheets. New ones will be going out on Monday for the new unit we are covering.

• Children should be reading some type of book over the weekend so that they are getting practice.

Reminders

• As posted on the school's blog, beginning Monday, 1/23 dismissal will be at 3:15 pm as per Mr. Woods. If someone else other than yourself is responsible for picking up your child, please advise them of the new dismissal time as we will not be dismissing until 3:15pm. -Thanks!

• Midterm exams will be sent home this week, please look over them, sign them and return them back to me. -Thanks!

• The end of the 2nd quarter is next Monday, 1/30. All grades will be posted up on Cornerstone by then.

• Decodible books will be sent home this week so that students can begin to get into the flow of reading more and eventually independently. I ask that parents please make sure that they are returned on time as I only have a limited amount and students will be taking turns using them throughout the week. - Thanks!

• I hope that most of you were able to access Superkids Online Portal over the weekend and that your child found the reinforcement actives fun. I encourage for students to log in a few nights a week to keep up with practice.

• As previously mentioned in earlier post, parents are urged to create an account (if you haven't done so yet) on GreatMinds. Homework Helpers and Parent Tip Sheets can be found on there for each module that we cover and the lessons within them. These supplements are a great aide to you as the parent when helping your child complete their homework.

          Since I have a few parents having trouble login onto the Superkids Online Portal, I have contacted the person in charge of it and currently waiting for a response. As soon as I get answers or they fix the issue I will inform parents of it right away. -Thank you for your patience.

Friday 1/27

- Review sight words over the weekend. Students will have an assessment on Tuesday. A reminder to parents, the sight words are not to be sounded out, they are memory words. Your child should be able to recognize them and say the words instantly.
- Review blending worksheets. Have your child go over each sound alone and then blend the sound together.

• Midterms for both Math and ELA are this week. Review sheets have been posted on last week's blog so please check them out and review with your child to ensure that they do their very best.

•  ELA will be Tuesday 11/17 and Math on Wednesday 11/18

• Index cards are going home this week with the information needed for the Superkids Online Portal. I still don't have emails for all parents. Usernames and passwords will be on the index cards Please write your email on the back side of it. If you have already provided me with one and have yet to login I encourage that you do to review with your child and reinforce what is taught in class.

For parents that have already registered and completed the Superkids registration steps please login at Superkids Online Portal on the top right hand corner click on school and parent login. Follow the prompts with your email and password. Once logged in, you can click on Online Fun located on the left of the page.

- Complete Superkids worksheets page 44, 45 and 47
- Complete math worksheet for lesson 14
- Blended worksheets from the Superkids program were sent home today. Please keep these at home so that they are not lost and use them as a review for your child. I suggest going over at least one or two rows per night.
- Dress down tomorrow with a $1 donation

Friday 11/20

- Blended worksheets were sent home yesterday, have your child review some of them. If you have already set up Superkids Online Portal log your child in over the weekend and have them practice a little with the Superkids.

          I apologize for the late post on the review sheets for the midterms. As some may know I have been stuck home with asthma and this cold hasn't been of any help. The links below are the review sheets for both Math and ELA midterms. Everything for the math can practiced on IXL and I have indicated the sections for each topic on the review sheet. As for ELA everything is pretty much self explanatory but you can also log onto Engage NY if you need further clarification.

Thursday 1/12

- Review for midterm exams, the links above provide a review sheet for each ELA and Math in which I strongly encourage parents to go through with their child so that they are well prepared for the exam.

REMINDERS

I ask that over the weekend you log onto Superkids Online Fun to review with your child their letter sounds and blending. If you cannot login it's because I still have not received an email address to register your child with (I've been asking parents since October).

Reviews for the Math and Reading Mid-Terms will be posted next week, so please keep an eye out for those.
