REMINDERS
**Please make sure your child has sharpened pencils every morning
for school. Reminder that being ready and prepared for class is
essential.**
  1. Parents please remind your children that penmanship counts towards their grade. Classwork as well as homework should be done neatly.
  2. Wednesday 1/31: Religion Fair @ 8:30 AM in the Lunchroom, parents are welcomed to join.
  3. Thursday 2/1: Report Cards sent home.
  4. Friday 2/2: EARLY DISMISSAL - 12 NOON, after school in session if needed. Parent - Teacher conferences 3 - 8 PM sharp!
  5. A reminder to parents that studying with your child will ensure academic progress. 20 minutes a night helps!

  2. Religion quiz was pushed back for this week. 10 Commandments and vocabulary words.
  3. Complete pp. 124 & only the bottom of 125 in RWJs if not done in class. The book has been assigned on Pearson, please log on to use it for the hw.

  1. Complete p. 127 in RWJs. The text has been assigned on Pearson, please log on and use it to complete your homework.

RELIGION PROJECTS
Both, 2nd and 3rd graders were given a topic on Friday in religion class for their projects and we briefly discussed what was expected. All information should be presented on a trifold board. Pictures may be printed and used for demonstration. Information may be typed and glued or handwritten on the board. This is the time to get very creative with your board to present the information on your topics.

2nd Grade:

For students who were assigned one of the Ten Commandments, the following questions should be answered on their boards:
  • Name the commandment given and it’s number.
  • What does the commandment mean?
  • How does the commandment apply to you as a child?
  • How does the commandment affect you as a child?
  • What can you do to follow the commandment?
  • What can you advise to other children your age on how to follow the commandment
For students who were assigned a sacrament, the following questions should be answered on their boards:
  • Name your sacrament and the type of sacrament it is.
  • What is the significance of the sacrament (why do we celebrate it)?
  • What is done during the sacrament? (any special procedures?)
  • What is used during or for the sacrament?
  • Why are they used?
  • When is the sacrament done? (what time during your life?)

3rd Grade:
All the students in the 3rd grade were assigned the Liturgical Year. Each child is to discuss Ordinary Time as well as one other season assigned to them in class. The following information is to be found on their boards:
  • The meaning of Liturgical Year/Calendar
  • The name of the season assigned
  • Timeframe of the season?
  • What is done to prepare for that season?
  • What is celebrated during that season?
  • Students should also explain what is Ordinary Time.
  • When does the Church practice it?

  3. 2nd grade ELA MAP Testing will be on Thursday 1/18, please make sure all students have breakfast.
